Can I use the Kuduwave audiometer in remote locations? Does it require a power source to operate?
The lightweight Kuduwave portable audiometer is ergonomically designed and highly portable. It is USB powered, plugs into the user’s laptop and does not require a power source or batteries to operate.
Can I conduct testing without an internet connection?
All Kuduwave audiometers can perform hearing tests both when online and offline. Please note that uploading and storing patient data securely in the Cloud requires an internet connection.
When using the Kuduwave portable audiometer, how will my patient data be stored?
Users’ patient data will be stored in folders on their laptop or, alternatively, in the Cloud. Users will input and access their patient data using our MedAxon audiometry software from a simple, user-friendly software interface.
If I have a problem with my Kuduwave whilst on an outreach mission, will there be support available?

Only use cleaning solutions and disinfection wipes that comply with EN1276 standards and are designed for use on plastic items.
IMPORTANT: Never use acetone-based cleaning products when cleaning your Kuduwave portable audiometer.

How do I upgrade MedAxon audiometry software for my Kuduwave audiometer?
All software installation and upgrades for your Kuduwave portable audiometer are available via the GeoAxon website.
How do I register and set up my GeoAxon devices on my user account?
Every GeoAxon product is issued with a unique serial number. This number will be registered on both our stock records and client database, under the relevant client or company’s name.
How do I include my personalised logo or letterhead in my patient reports?
- Create a 700 x 110-pixel image from your logo and save it as a .bmp file.
- Open the MedAxon audiometry software interface and click on “Upload Letterhead” in the Settings menu.
- Click “OK”, find your logo’s .bmp file and click “Save”.
How is my Kuduwave patient data stored, and is my patient data secure?
All your Kuduwave patient data is obfuscated locally and is only accessible via the MedAxon audiometry software interface. Your data cannot be deleted, as “deleted data” is only hidden from end users. Users’ Kuduwave patient databases are encrypted and stored in hidden folders under GUIDs, which are linked to the respective Kuduwave hearing tests or individual patients.
How long will it take for my patients’ Kuduwave test results to be ready?
This will depend on various factors. Patient-response time will vary from patient to patient. Patient understanding of the testing protocol, as well as underlying conditions will all have an effect on the timings of patients’ responses, as well as their test reports.
How do I access my patients’ Kuduwave test results?
On the MedAxon audiometry software homepage, select the folder and patient on whom the hearing test was conducted. When selecting the patient, the relevant patient interface will open. The patient’s saved test results will be displayed in the saved test data pane.
How do I compare patient test results using my Kuduwave portable audiometer’s software interface?
- Open your Kuduwave’s MedAxon audiometry software interface.
- Select a record in the “Patient History” panel. This will open the file in the “Test Data” pane.
- Above the test preview, you will have the option to compare the currently selected audiogram with a previous test. Simply select the “Compare With” option from the drop-down menu.
How do I import an existing patient database into my Kuduwave portable audiometer’s software interfa
To import a previously backed up version of all patient data:
- Select “Import a backup and merge it with this database”. A warning will pop up communicating that older versions of software may not support patient data which was backed up from a newer software version. NOTE: Please ensure that you are always using the latest version of MedAxon software.
- Click “OK” and browse to the location of the backup file that you would like to import.
- Select the file you want to import and click “Open”. This data will now be merged with your current database and will be available on the home screen of your Kuduwave audiometer’s software interface.
What are tips for Folder Management when using my Kuduwave portable audiometer?
- Folders can be created and managed in the Folders Management pane of the MedAxon audiometry software interface.
- It is recommended that users organise patient folders either alphabetically (patient names, organisation or company names) or according to the date (month / year) when patients are tested.
How can I view the shortcut keys for using my Kuduwave audiometer?
- Once in the MedAxon audiometry software interface, navigate to TBC.
- On the right-hand side of the Test screen, you will see the Test Controls Panel.
- Use the Test Controls Panel keypad on the screen or keyboard shortcuts to move the cursor across the plane.
- Click on the question mark in the top left-hand corner to see the Shortcuts Table under the Help Guide or press F12 on your keyboard.
How do I change my printer’s default settings when using MedAxon software?
- Select the Test Preview tab.
- Select the test you wish to view in the Patient Test Data pane.
- In the Test Preview folder, select Printer Settings.
- Select your default printer.
